Workshop in Lund 20 November
You are welcome to join us for a workshop at Lund University the 20th of November. The theme for the workshop is Web Accessibility in Higher Education.
The aim of the workshop is to discuss how web accessibility can be better integrated into existing curricula and how to best prepare students for the new demands of the market in this field.
The day will offer many interesting cases about how different universities in the Nordic region are working to get web accessibility on the agenda in university projects and curricula.

13:15 Universal Design for Learning, Being and Doing
As society becomes increasingly permeated by and reliant on digitalized infrastructure, so do the expectations on and prerequisites for what acting as a full citizen entails in terms of accessibility and participation. At Certec, Lund University, digital media, human-computer interaction, user-centred design and interaction design today cuts through most of our work. During this presentation we will elaborate on how we address and utilize accessibility from an inclusive stance grounded on Universal Design and Universal Design for Learning. The presentation will be based on material and examples from both teaching and research.

This case presents how we at Digital design and innovation at Halmstad University use design studio pedagogy to highlight different perspectives on accessibility and design for all, by using project briefs from external clients from businesses, public sector and research.

This workshop is part of a project where IAAP Nordic is joining forces with four leading universities in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland as well as accessibility specialist company Funka Nu AB. The aim is to set up a network to promote and strengthen web accessibility education throughout the Nordic countries.
