Workshop November 21st: Introducing web accessibility in higher education

Would you like to help us get issues related to web accessibility into university curricula? Do you have experience from college education that integrates accessibility in a good way? If that is the case, you are very welcome to attend one of our workshops, in a project funded by Nordplus. IAAP Nordic, four universities in Finland, Denmark, Norway and Sweden, as well as Funka, now organizes the first workshop at OsloMet, 21st November.

Time: 13: 00-16: 00. Lunch and networking from kl. 12:00
Location:
Oslo Metropolitan University, Pilestredet 35, PH330

The day will offer many interesting cases about how different universities in the Nordic region are working to get web accessibility on the agenda in university projects and curricula.

We will listen to Miriam Begnum from NTNU, The Norwegian University of Science and Technology. Miriam Begnum works at the Department of Design, where she previously led the Master's program in Interaction Design. Today she is busy completing her PhD in Computer Science with a focus on universal design.

Weiqin Chen, Professor at the Faculty of Technology, Art and Design at OsloMet, will also share her experiences about how OsloMet has included web accessibility in its IT education.

In this project, funded by Nordplus, IAAP Nordic, Funka and four Nordic universities will work to ensure that web accessibility will become a natural part of the universities education programs.
